Vandal: MTA (Metro Transit Assassins) - "This is one of the most prolific and destructive graffiti or `tagging' crews" in L.A., said Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the city attorney.
Tag: A "Blockbuster" - 1/4 Mile LONG!
(As found in GraffitiAbatement.org's online training, a blockbuster is a VERY large piece of graffiti using simple block letters and typically only two colors. They are often applied using rollers and bucket paint instead of cans.)
Damage: Close to $4 Million Dollars in damage due to environmental hazards that the paint posed to the location.
Scene: Yesterday marked a premier court injunction that resulted in the organization of an August 31st hearing against the MTA.
Goal: Restricting the MTA on who they see, where they go, AND what they carry.
Blamed for over 500 graffiti incidents, who can blame LA officials for seeking aid in their fight against the MTA?!
